I build and design keyboards!

I fell into the rabbit hole of the mechanical keyboard hobby in three main steps.

  • The full size, soldered board with some pre-selected switches.
  • The hotswappable, ortholinear, fully customizable board.
  • The small, ergonomic, DIY board.

There probably should've been some intermediate steps on that journey, but I have never been good at moderation when it comes to hobbies. They simply lie dormant waiting for me to pick them up again. To that end I am going to continue a time-honored tradition and write a guide to all things (that I care about) having to do with mechanical keyboards. Keep in mind that as I write this I am using a 34-key board in a layout that ensures that none of the legends on my keycaps will ever be accurate again, and watch yourself: this hobby goes deeper than is reasonable for 99.99% of folks.

But don't let that stop you.
